As I wandered the halls of TGS 2017 this year I saw many spectacles. The majority of which were in the the hall that housed the indie games, merchandising, and esports arena. As I toured the MANY booths that featured VR games I stumbled on a strange sight. I watched as a man took care of his virtual baby by cradling it and also feeding it. Having held a few babies in my day, I felt kind of freaked out by this. Anyone who has been around VR knows that you’re going to look pretty ridiculous, but this is a whole new level from where I was standing.
The game looked incredibly awkward to “play”(?), and this was due to the number of things tying you down. Not only was the player using a Vive headset and controllers, but as seen in the photo below you had a baby doll that seemed to be wired up as well to deal with. Admittedly, the man that was playing did seem to enjoy it in some odd way.
Japan has a very big birthing rate problem, and after witnessing this monstrosity I don’t think this will change things….
